“Christ has…no hands, no feet on earth but yours”
Haven’t we all been searching for meaning and purpose in our lives? Sure, we have our vocations and that often consumes all our time and energy but sometimes we hear with the ears of heart that gentle call to do more.
I had read a message given to a visionary that said that Jesus considered abortion to be the greatest evil of our time. I coupled that with something else Saint Teresa of Avila had said “Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands, no feet on earth but yours” … God can do great things through us if we do our part and let him. We just need to take the first step. What is the first step? We need to make the effort to stand up, give back to God our body, our hands and our feet, to protect the unborn right now and tomorrow and the tomorrow after that.
I was prompted to get more involved in standing up for the unborn and I can tell you after years on the street in front of the clinic I have no regrets. It has added greater meaning and purpose to my life. It brings me a deep sense of joy…. Admittedly it also brings sadness and at times discomfort. But the true joy outweighs it all knowing I’m doing His will.
I hope you all feel the same. And if you haven’t come downtown for a while, come back and feel true peace and joy again. It will add more meaning and purpose to your busy life. You can sign up for a time slot or just show up any day or time. Stay a little while or longer. Just come.
I know it’s not everyone’s calling, “some are apostles, some are prophets …” but if you are feeling the tug on your heart and the pull on your hands and feet come on down. We need you. HE needs you. GBY

SIDEWALK REPORTS
7:30-9 AM +++ Mark and Michael

MICHAEL: We welcome a warmer day. An uneventful shift. Security guard Stacey showed up a little late and we didn’t see any clients enter. A few staff members entered. We were happy to get greeted by 3 passersby who gave their enthusiastic approval for us being there. This shift seems to be quiet.
9-11 AM +++ David and Mary

MARY: It was a quiet Monday morning on the Sidewalk as no clients entered PP. Dave and I were joined by Ray and his son, Fr. John. Together we prayed a rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet. We had some interesting conversations with people passing by and encouraging comments.
11 AM-1 PM +++ Marie and Bernie

MARIE: The clinic remained closed, but there was a lot of sidewalk traffic.
1-3 PM +++ Tom and Seamus

TOM: Thank you to Seamus for sitting in today from 1 til 3. Very quiet day in front of PP with only a few people going in or out. We said a rosary in front of PP to stop abortions, and several passersby made a point to thank Seamus for his Veterans service (nice hat!). Also a father and son stopped to also thank us for being a prayerful presence in front of the PP.
3-5 PM +++ Dan and Joanne
DAN: Slow day at PP , no one went in or out the whole time we were there! Two people took some of the candy Joanne brought with her. A couple people blessed us for being there. No disrespectful remarks today .
