Day 28…Thanks to St. Peter Parish, Weirton Catholic Churches, St. Matthias Parish, St. Matthew Parish, dedicated team members and all who prayed with us today!

A couple of months back I was given a very nice book called Pro-Life Reflections for Every Day. Today, I would like to share the reflection from July 29th.

SCRIPTURE. A priest happened to be traveling along that same road, but when he saw him he passed by on the other side.
—Lk 10:31

REFLECTION. Perhaps the priest and Levite walked by the victim on the roadside because they thought the robbers were around the corner waiting to attack them. They asked, “If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?”

The Samaritan reversed the question and asked, “If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?”

PRAYER. Lord, may I stop calculating the risk to myself, and instead ask what will happen to the vulnerable if I don’t help them.

SIDEWALK REPORTS

TRACY: Beth, Shawn, and Maggie from St. Peter’s in Steubenville joined Bill, Jackie, Anthony and me for the first shift of the day. It was a pretty good showing for that early in the morning. Biz was slow, thank God. One couple went in and two other single young ladies. Two separate individuals went in who looked like they might be receiving transitioning assistance? The ultrasound van drove past and honked the horn at us. We cheerfully waved back.

BETH: Imagine on the news tonight, “50 babies killed and 50 women wounded at Planned Parenthood this week. We’re investigating this tragedy. Film at 11.”

Nope, all three Pittsburgh news stations passed Planned Parenthood this morning and no one stopped to “investigate.” Some other local story was more important, but not more important to us. It will be interesting to see how the “Defund Planned Parenthood” rally tomorrow at noon is covered by local news. Or do we already know.

None the less, see you there.

Today was busy and business as usual. Just Linda, Randy and I praying that defunding PP closes it down.

Mother of Sorrows and Knights of Columbus members and parishioners from St. Joseph the Worker, Weirton!

SHEILA: It was a typical day on the sidewalk; nothing special to report!

Mike and his wife Denise, Mike, and Kim and Gayle from St Matthias Parish Greene County.  Not in the picture, but with us were sidewalk advocates, Sandy and Peg.

KIM: We were blessed with the most peaceful vigil I have ever experienced in the years I’ve been with 40 Days. No one cursed us out. Not one person We had so many people stop and pray with us and so many people blessed us. No brown paper bags came out of PP and no one went in for an abortion. It was so quiet at PP. Peg, the sidewalk advocate, commented that there is a big difference on the sidewalk when we are here praying compared to when no one is praying. SA Sandy has often said the same thing. Everyone is so much nicer even the people. coming out of PP are more receptive to conversation. Praise God for protecting us, and blessing everyone on the sidewalk today! He promises “Where ever two or more are gathered in His Name He is present!” Jesus we trust in You and your promises! Thank you Jesus, Mary and all the Angels that were with us today!

Gayle a first time volunteer with 40 days was a great prayer warrior today. She was a little nervous because she didn’t know what to expect.  We were all amazed when she felt called by the Holy Spirit to walk up to a woman coming out of PP to let her know that “we are praying for you.” The woman was surprised and asked “why?” Gayle responded that “everyone could use prayers.” She responded “you don’t need to pray for me because I’m a lesbian and will never have an abortion.  And that PP does more than just abortions.” We think she was probably a volunteer for PP.  Gayle had a really positive experience and said that she will come back to pray with us again. Praise God.

JOHN: Bill, Virginia, Ken, John, John We had another nice day weather wise at hell on earth. We had a lot of positive comments today. We prayed the Rosary, Chaplet and Stations. I tried to give information to a couple with the brown bag. No such. It is sad when you to see so many workers coming out at the end of the day. Do the not know what they are doing? Let us pray to Our Blessed Mother tonight. My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord

  1. About the local un-news stations in pittsburgh, they will never say anything about the INNOCENT CHILDREN being EUTHANISED !! BUT !! Let 1 child be killed with a firearm & it will be on every station for days !! & they will be crying for more laws to protect children !!
