Day 20…Thanks to our wonderful team!

This has always been one of my favorite songs when sung in church and also one of the most thought provoking.

“Here I am Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.”

It always begs the question “Is God still calling me?”.  As most of you reading this could say, “You called me, Lord, to stand up for the unborn and participate in the two-a-year 40 Days for Life campaigns. and I said, ‘YES’, Lord.”

Well I answered the question after listening to the song again and said, “Ok, I have heard you calling in the night… so lead me.”.  And for me, HE asked if I could leave the cozy comfort of home and make more time to go down again to the vigil … and I said yes. Oh, and it was a sacrifice.

So I ask you to read the refrain again and ask if HE is making the same request of you. Listen with the ears of your heart. Can you return to street one more time?  And/or is HE asking you to give the same opportunity to do HIS will to one of your friends or family members?  If so, bear the discomfort and ask them.  Maybe they’ll join you and find out how going to pray and witness to life outside the abortion center adds a greater sense of meaning and purpose to their lives.  Know that if you choose to make “the ask”, HE will lead you.

God bless you and I hope to see you again on the street soon.  You have 20 more days to pick from.  So say “Yes Lord”.  Tim

Because of construction happening on the sidewalk next to PP, the materials were set up on the other side today. Thanks to Joe!
Michele answered the call to fill the empty 8am hour with Joe today!

(from joe) – Did battle with a beautiful and alive Christian, Michele ( pictured), from the South hills.

No women went in for abortions, only a few staff, the weather was comfortable, especially when the sun poked out over the buildings. Due to the construction, we set up displays on opposite side, which worked out well.

Peace of the Lord be with all of you and your families.

(From Elsie) – Mercifully, no victims entered the death mill during the 9-11AM shift, so Joe W and I were able to make a division of “Ora et labora,” with Joe praying the Rosary whilst I kept my eyes open and offered literature to passersby.  Midway, Bernie came to replace Joe.

Scaffolding is up next door, with workers up on various levels.  If you are out on the sidewalk, be aware that equipment could drop accidentally from overhead and be hazardous.

(From Elsie) – There were no victims entering or exiting, Deo gratias, so Tom and I were free to pray the Joyful Mysteries and offer literature to passersby.   Another sad reminder of man’s inhumanity to man was an exchange, right inside the Bubble, that appeared to be a drug transaction.  The seller (male) appeared healthy and perky, in stark contrast to the buyer (female), who looked unwell and unhappy.  They walked away together, leaving us feeling worried about the poor lady but helpless to do anything. 😢

  1. “Here I am, Lord.” Such a beautiful reflection for today. Praying for God to send more laborers to the vineyard. Thanks to all who sacrificed for the babies today.

  2. ,What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
    What a privilege to carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer!
    2
    Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
    3
    Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Savior, still our refuge—
    Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
    Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
