Day 2…Thanks to Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene and all wonderful team members!

As this Lenten Campaign gets underway we reflect on why we are committed to show up for our shift each week. We love the Lord, we love life, and we are servants of the living God. We are there out of love, first our love for God and our love for our neighbor.  We love people enough to tell them the truth of what abortion really is; murder. It is the destruction of a unique individual that God knit together in the mother’s womb, created in God’s image.  God knew us before He formed us and we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  We may not necessarily be thrilled to stand in the rain, cold or snow or to hear the jeers or rude comments or looks. But we show up because God has put it on our hearts to be a voice for the voiceless, to speak up for the most vulnerable among us; the unborn. We show up because we value life and it’s right and true. This is what God has called us to do.  We choose obedience to God over comfort.  God never ceases to amaze us as the blessings far outweigh anything else we encounter.  God shows up on the sidewalk and sends people to help us persevere and endure.  It may be a “thank you, God bless you, thank you for what you do, thank you for being here. We are there to save babies and souls.  My friend Donna & I have been blessed to have many conversations with passersby. We’ve prayed with them, hugged them, shared the Gospel with them. God opens up the doors and it’s important for us to walk through them.  As the Church, the body of Christ, the Ekklesia, we need to be about the Great Commission as we do this most important work for the Lord.  Ask God to give you opportunities to share the Gospel. God bless you all for your faithfulness!  Keep going!  Awakening is coming!  Revival is coming!  Jesus is coming! Let’s make sure we are awake and aware and doing Kingdom work!

God we praise You for all You will do during these 40 days and beyond!  All honor, praise and glory to You forever and ever.  In Jesus name we pray. AMEN.

Keep reading for the shift reports from today…

MARK: Cheryl and her husband Rick were already setting up when I arrived at 7:15. The first thing I noticed (after seeing Cheryl and Rick) was that the port-a-john was gone! For those who participate in 40DaysforLife365 you know what I am talking about. The first workers arrive about 7:30, and I believe our presence is a seed that the Holy Spirit can use to change hearts. Right at 8:00 two couples arrived and another young woman about 10 min later. All entered PP without talking or taking the information we provided.  Several more workers and an abortionist arrived over the next hour as we continually mentioned abortionworker.com as they entered. One of my joys of the early morning shift is always smiling and saying ‘good morning’ to the kids as they pass by on their way to school. A strong wind throughout the shift, light snow falling for the last 30-40 mins. A blessed time to witness for Life.

JUDY: I was warmly greeted by Cheryl this blustery morning. Denise and i joined randy and conrad. And then we were joined by Nick and Anthony.

Initially there were several women going in for appointments. One lady came out who had accompanied her friend and was trying to talk her out of the abortion. Denise talked to her and she was remorseful for bringing her friend to have the abortion.

I met a young man who needed money, so I was able to pray with him and give him Gods blessing. I met another lady who was homeless and needed food. We gave her the resource card to go get some food and shelter. I was able to pray with her as well. And she confessed her sins and asked Jesus to be her savior today. Praise God!

We had a steady stream of people going into PP and no one was receptive to any resources or conversation.

CONRAD: Today 9-11 shift. Judy S brought along her friend Denise who I believe you know. Randy was there when I got there and he stayed until 1030. Always great to have him there. Anthony and Nick stopped by but did not stay.

So the four of us did the work. About 15 abortion minded women went in. About 5 exited from first shift. No one accepted literature or appeared interested in our pleas for life. My impression is that the majority appeared puzzled by our efforts. Many had smiles on their faces.

The cold, and the wind only made for a more dismal and dark atmosphere. All very typical of a morning at the gates of hell.

Coming soon!

CIL: Carolyn brought David for our shift and Fr Jim brought me.  🙂  Thanks to all for freezing on the sidewalk today as we prayed and reached out to those passing by.

PETE: The 3-5 shift with Bill and I was uneventful until the end (we wrapped up a little after 4:30) when someone decided to knock over the fetal model table.  Nothing broke though.
