Perseverance
After reading some online posts recently, I realized that I, too, was maybe a little bit weary of praying on the sidewalk to end abortion. After a dozen years of praying downtown, what difference was I making? Why was I still going every Wednesday afternoon?
I came to realize that feeling discouragement is the Devil’s way to make us stop trying to save the little lives that enter those doors on Liberty Avenue. We need to recognize it’s him and respond in the right, Christian, way.
We need to rededicate ourselves to the cause of LIFE, to stand up for the pre-born, to stand witness that all human life is sacred, from conception to natural death. And to pray that the mothers will feel the life growing within them and decide to allow their child to see the light of day.
How much of a sacrifice is it, really, to spend an hour or two praying for those that have no voice? Compared to Jesus’ suffering, what is it to endure curses and vitriol from passersby, to put up with cold or hot weather? Not much…

7:30-9:00 – Joe & Ethan

JOE: Was joined this morning with the faithfilled, energetic young warrior, Ethan,
Unusual start with 6 woman seeking abortion arriving by 8am, the sun shined thru and fortunately no other mothers entered PP til our shift change. Another atypical occurrence was that a greater # of workers entered PP during our shift.
May God Bless our movement this campaign and permanently close PP!!!
9:00-11:00 – Kim & Kathy

KATHY: Kathy, Pastor Cindy V, and SA Kim; SA Bernie; Alice from Duquesne University. Also stopping by were Bill H. and Bill ?, a friend of Judy V. Rather quiet shift today for the first hour. Most passersby accepted my literature. Pastor Cindy approached passersby to offer prayers and a tract. Some were very receptive to her. An aggressive man accompanying a woman entering pp yelled at us to stop harassing them. Kim and Cindy had a lengthy conversation with a mother and daughter who were on their way to sell girl scout cookies at the convention center. Judy’s friend Bill spoke courageously in defense of unborn life to a foul mouthed young man who threatened to give him covid by coughing on him. The people we meet!
11:00-1:00 – Ann, Bernie, Judy
ANN: It seemed busy today during the noon hour. Unfortunately, a number of women and couples entered Planned Parenthood, most did not accept literature, though a few did. One man in particular seemed to appreciate the offer of help, though the woman he was with was not happy that he took a green brochure being offered to them. None of the women leaving accepted any help. About seven people came at 1:00, it was encouraging to see so many people on a shift.
1:00-3:00 – Donna

Beth, Bob, Bernadette, Frank and Kathy, from St. Matthew’s Parish, joined the Donna’s on the sidewalk today. Sadly there was a revolving door at PP today. God will right this wrong in His perfect timing and His perfect way. True and just are His judgements, true and just are His ways.
3:00-5:00 – Pat, Val & Mike
