Day 34…Thanks to St. Joseph Parish in Lucinda & St. Michael Parish in Fryburg, and all our wonderful team members!

Throughout my lifetime I have been reminded that the most important key to success in my family life, spiritual life, work and play life is to just keep showing up. And not to give way to doubt, insecurity, distractions,  discouragement, or fear of what others will think of me. More often than not I achieved what I sought after and experienced a great sense of accomplishment.

All of that applies to you and me when it comes to going downtown and courageously being at 933 Liberty Avenue in front of the abortion mill. I know it’s not easy.  If it were easy HE wouldn’t need you.  It’s kinda like showing up at the foot of Jesus’ cross at HIS crucifixion and not many showed up that day because it was hard or they were fearful.

He can make great things happen with our small efforts if we just show up.

As the Fall campaign draws to a close, we still need you and more importantly the moms, dads and babies need you. So please Just Show Up. Come back downtown if you’ve been there or come for the first time. Have the courage to invite a friend or family member to courageously join you.

We are still there at the foot of the cross with a core team year round and can use your presence to enhance our efforts, witness and effectiveness. The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few… The master needs you… Be not afraid… (sound familiar?)

So sign up or just show up. GBY Tim

(From Michael) – Staff and women entered PP during this first shift. Some women had males with them. Nothing significant to report.

(From Elsie) – Susan O & I covered the sidewalk from 9-11 & were joined by a prayer-warrior (& dad of a priest!!) named Ray.  It seemed that killings were going on inside, so a lot of sorrow.  Perhaps the saddest occurrence was an entire family (mom, dad, baby in stroller, older child on foot, & likely a little sibling in mom’s womb) going in, evidently for the execution of the youngest family member.  We tried to offer help but may not have been heard as they were being processed by the death mill’s guard.  If only we could have had a real opportunity to sit down with them & find out what problems were so terrible as to lead them to such a desperate act.  We all would love to help!!  Some of us could provide diapers & a double stroller, others collect clothes for all three siblings, and grammas like me would baby-sit!!  Where there’s a will to save a life, there are ways to do so & have it all be a blessing…We hope & pray they decide to let their littlest one LIVE & ask us for REAL HELP!! 🙏🙏

Carol and Marie

(From Carol) – It went well, pretty quiet, but a few thumbs up😊 so very sad that it was an abortion day today… I wasn’t there early enough to see anyone go in, but we didn’t see anybody come out.🙏🥲

Beautiful group from Fryburg, with shift anchors Dan & Joanne

(From Tom) Moderate amount of people entering and exiting PP today, we were able ( THANK YOU to Elsie and the others from the church group from up north, Saints Mary and Michael Church). We had this great team of prayer partners and ‘social-engagers’ keeping up the religious and positive sidewalk presence.  One of our group was ‘told’ by the PP security to step out of the painted arc, even though he had no signage on himself.   A comment was made to the security person that we are allowed inside the arc if we had no sign/ID tag and we weren’t interceding any potential PP clients.   Nothing further was noted by either the guard or us on that matter.   We MAY have had a very meaningful discussion with a grandfather who dropped off his granddaughter near the entrance to PP but since that occurred during the shift start, we lost sight of where the female went.  In any case, the grandfather is now more educated on items related to true health care for women and unborn babies.  ***NOTE***One without signage may stand inside the circle ONLY when/if they are actively sidewalk advocating. It is not permitted for someone (even without a sign) to simply stand inside the circle).

(From Elsie) – Tom & I shared the sidewalk with a gentleman (& retired high school teacher!) named Terry, plus three lovely Rosary-warriors (Anne, Elizabeth, & Mary) accompanying him from the churches of Clarion County.  A young businessman took a break from his workplace to offer a Rosary for the babies & their parents.  During this shift there were fewer victims entering PP, and most of those leaving appeared to be staff. We tried to offer leaflets to all passers-by, as well as to victims. Most of the moms who change their minds are unknown to us.  Even those who let us know they changed their minds often don’t feel safe exchanging contact information with strangers.  So how best can we provide material help to families who’ve chosen Life??  One important way is to donate DIAPERS & WIPES to pro-life pregnancy help programs.  Right now, CATHOLIC CHARITIES’ Pregnancy&Parenting program is in serious need of diapers in sizes 3 & bigger (especially sizes 6 & 7), baby wipes, & pull-ups in size 5T-6T.  These can be dropped off at their new location, 111 Boulevard of the Allies (next to the Red Door), OR they can be shipped there directly, if any of us want to order online.  Best online options are Walmart.com or Costco.com.  If you are OK with your supplies being used not just in Allegheny County, but in any county served by the Pittsburgh Diocese, please let Catholic Charities know that.  Diapers & wipes are a practical way to “walk with moms in need.”👼🤱🏽👩🏼‍🍼👼

(From Dan) – A little busy at P P as we prayed , no bad comments today but no good ones either. One nice lady did stop and tell us about a radio station she listens to that takes donations for providing sonograms for women in need of them , she said the station was called The Word , I told her I heard of that station before. Its call letters are Word – FM 101.5 .

  1. So sad to read of persons going into the abortuarium, especially the family. God bless the witnesses who were there today.

  2. The Court Opinion allows the following within the buffer zone:
    1)Sidewalk counseling, including one-one conversations with those entering the abortion facility;
    2)Wearing a pro-life shirt, bracelet, or button while engaging in sidewalk counseling;
    3)Standing within the zone when you are speaking OR WAITING TO SPEAK with those individuals entering and exiting the abortion facility
    The above allowances were printed in a letter from ADF lawyer Elissa Graves on Nov 7, 2019. As one of the plaintiffs in the case, I was mailed this letter by Elissa and carry it with me when on the sidewalk. However, when I practiced #3, Glen, the pp security guard called police on me and instructed me to stand outside the buffer zone. They said the letter needed to be on city letterhead not ADF for them to recognize that right.
    Caving to intimidation from police and Glenn, I and others have since stood outside the buffer zone. If anyone, would practice #3,even though it’s rightful, be prepared to have police visit and to be challenged in court.

    1. Kathy, thank you very much for the insightful clarifications…. i agree that Glen reads ‘the script’ from the management at PP and they try and interpret the letter to their advantage. as a matter of a few feet or yards, it does not seem to be worth intimidation from PP, Glen, or any wrongly-guided police so it seems to me the safest approach is to not remain in the buffer area unless actively engaged with a person entering or exiting PP…. God Bless You for your efforts and thanks again!
