Day 3…Thanks to St. Matthew Parish, Christ Our Savior Parish & Faithful team members and volunteers!

The new 40 Days for Life campaign started several days ago, and it’s time to ask you to come down to the sidewalk on Liberty Avenue- to pray that little lives in the womb are saved, to make public witness to the sanctity of human life, and to sacrifice your time in the name of love in a world turned upside down.

Praying and/or counseling on the sidewalk in front of PP is not easy for anyone.  It’s not meant to be easy.  It takes courage and conviction to pray for the unseen in the womb, developing human beings that are often seen as disposable.  They are sacrificed on the altar of convenience, victims of a selfish act that’s all about “Me”.

But sacrifice is what we are called to do, to be there for those who cannot speak for themselves, to be Jesus’ hands, feet, and voices for the unborn.

Think about Jesus’ sacrifice for us- the ridicule, the scourging that brought inconceivable pain.  A sacrifice that brought humanity the promise of Eternal Life.  How do our sacrifices during the Campaign compare to His? Jesus’ sacrifice for us was the ultimate act of Love- for you, for me, for the abortion workers, for the pregnant women and the fathers.

“Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole company around Him.  They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.  And they twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand and knelt down before Him to mock Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”  Then they spit on Him and took the staff and struck Him on the head repeatedly.”  Matthew 27:30

So, I ask you to please sacrifice some of your time between now and November 3rd and join the Sidewalk Advocates and prayer warriors downtown.  Please pray with us for the  pre-born children and the mothers that carry them as they enter PP.  For your prayers may be the last ones the little ones in the womb will hear before they go to Heaven.

“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His footsteps.”  1 Peter 2:21

Ethan, (on one leg) but full of his love of babies and willingness to pray. Ethan we pray that your leg heals quickly!

Slow start for PP as the employees were not able to enter PP, they had to wait for 5-10 mins before gaining access. I let them know there was a message of HOPE and LOVE at Abortion workers .com. Ethan and I had a quiet shift, slower than usual with only 3-4 women going in for abortions. One women I offered help too was struggling with the evil. Her Aunt drove, she thought being supportive was letting her niece decide life or death. I reminded Auntie, she would be remembered by her ( niece’s)decision today for the rest of her life, so go back in there and make it a celebration instead of misery. LORD HAVE MERCY ON US!!! Joe W

It’s not a very good picture,  but Barb assured me that all the machinery that was pushed into pp today came with the cleaning company. Will there ever be enough soap to clean away the deaths that occur here?

And something I’ve seldom seen, today, three times, mothers entering were accompanied by a “father” carrying a toddler. How do you get your mind to okay one child in your arms and then killing a another in the womb? What lies are told to get anyone to go along with that? God help us.

It was very busy today on the sidewalk and and at pp. It gave us the opportunity to engage many people. It was a joy to be with Elsie  and Jane, who are wonderful witnesses for life. Two ladies showed up to hand out a brochure in front of pp detailing the one lady’s “story”. They did not know that anyone would be on the sidewalk witnessing for life or anything about 40DFL. We hooked them up with information on 40DFL and 365 as well as prolife resources. Her story is quite heavy and impacted anyone who was gracious enough to take the brochure and read it. Several people were compelled to return and thank her for her witness. We thank her for her tremendous courage to come to the sidewalk and ask God to bless her richly! Many people entered pp today.

We were able to offer help to a woman who left but said she was on the fence about whether or not to have an abortion. Her main barrier to choosing life for her child is financial. She was given information about all of the free resources available and assured that our entire 40DFL group is willing to help her. We also told her that we are all praying for her and she is not alone. Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks, Sue

This courageous young woman showed up at PP to warn those going in about how abortion hurt her, after she was raped at 13. Read her heart-wrenching story below in the pamphlet she was handing out.
Bernadette and Donna from St. Matthew Parish, with shift manager Donna

Bob was with us too from St. Matthew’s Parish. Many passersby were given information. Most going in and out refused. Many workers came in and out and were told about www.abortionworker.com

Prayers were said for all who came in and out and all the passersby. Donna got to pray with Kenny and urged him to go to the ER for his hand that appeared to have a wound on it that looked to be infected. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you.

Pat may look lonely in this photo…but don’t worry! Although no one answered the call to stand with him from 3-5, our dear Elsie came back for a second shift to be with him! Thank you Elsie!!!

I was expecting rain and expecting to be alone, but God took care of both.  No rain and Elsie pulled a double-shift today to make sure that I wasn’t alone.  She is a true bright-light in a mostly dark city.  Thank you, Elsie!  As I prayed and watched her, I wondered how many lives may have changed course just in the span of two hours because of her being there and being willing to really engage with people who passed by.  So thank you, Lord, for putting her example in front of me.  Pat
