Day 11…Thanks to all who prayed at the vigil today despite parade traffic!

 “Aye, aye, Sir!”

Imagine the amazing maritime feat of an ultra large container vessel accomplishing a U-turn at sea. The size of nearly four football fields and weighing over 200,000 tons, turning around would be quite an ordeal! It can be done, but not without a great deal of effort on the part of competent individuals manning the helm, time, distance, a properly working rudder and some bow thrusters. What appears to be a Herculean task becomes a reality!    An enormous undertaking has been set before us, too. Our “Captain” does NOT want His creation destroyed. S.O.S!! (Save Our Society) All hands on deck! Each one of us is called to fulfill some duty in helping to turn this ship around. We have to BELIEVE that respect for ALL life is possible in the future. We need to faithfully pray and confidently strive toward that end. Every one of us, no matter how small our offering, will contribute to a global change of heart!    Come be a part of our crew!

SIDEWALK REPORTS

Nathan and Tim
David and Sue

TIM: The street started off very quiet with little street or road traffic due to road closures for the parade. We were blessed with the clinic being closed. Nathan, a Knight from Christ the King joined us in prayer and stayed into Sue’s shift where he was joined by fellow Knight, Andrew. Foot traffic picked up significantly as the start of the parade got near and we made a great witness.  Many passersby greeted and thanked us. Thank you, St Patrick.

SUE: Thanks be to God pp was closed! I was joined by 4 wonderful people, 2 ladies and 2 knights of Columbus who answered the call to cover the shift! There was a lot of sidewalk traffic for the parade, so a lot of opportunity for witness. We all held signs while we prayed. We had many positive interactions and a few negatives. A runner passing by gave me the finger and stole the sign from one of the ladies…it was a great sign saying a heartbeat begins at 18 days. All in all it was a great shift filled with many blessings.

DEAN: Any day that P.P. is closed is good news. Aside from the people disassembling from the parade, there wasn’t much happening in town today.

KATHY: Grateful to God that Seamus and Billy prayed with me this shift. Many parade partyers! One man tried pp door: he quickly accepted info about pregnancy centers offering free std testing and treatment. His girlfriend wanted him tested. Conversation quickly changed to relationships and religion. He is from Georgia, hasn’t found church, attends girlfriend’s. Invited to Seamus’ St. Germaine and Log Church. Another young man was studying signs: wanted to know if we are paid to stand there: by God. What church? Family of God. Do u just show up? Invited next Saturday 1-3 and given 40 day brochure, call Nikki.  Do u help men? Took green brochure, when I opened case , he wanted a baby model. Many more questions!

BILLY: Happy St. Patrick’s Day parade weekend everyone. Today Planned Parenthood is closed which is a great day for us. A guy came up and asked us why we were here and so I said we are hear praying to end abortion, and he left. Another man came and spoke faith to me and encouraged what we were doing. He asked if the clinic was open and we had a pretty good conversation about 40 days and what we were doing, and then he left food with us for the homeless. Other than that today was pretty tame.
