Is it just me, or do you also feel a sense of urgency in the air? I feel like we are being prepared for something…waiting for the hammer to drop. Maybe it is because the days are shorter and darker and we are getting close to the end of the year. The church calendar is also coming to a close and all the readings are about the end of time.
When time is almost up…what do we do? Speaking for myself, when I am approaching a deadline, I double-down on my efforts with increased focus and drive…cramming as much into a short window of time as I possibly can.
I think that is happening right now in the pro-life movement. It seems like it is now or never…

An important case will be heard by our nations’ supreme court on December 1st; Dobbs vs. Jackson. This case has the potential to overturn Roe vs. Wade. This is such an important opportunity to end the forced legalization of abortion that 40 Days for Life has decided to hold a special “mini-campaign” on November 30th and December 1st. For us in Pittsburgh, it will be a “40 HOURS for Life” campaign!
From 7:00 am on Tuesday, November 30th through 11:00 pm on December 1st we will hold a prayer vigil in front of Planned Parenthood. For safety, during the late and overnight hours we will be in a protected area. If you are interested in participating during the night (men only please), contact me and I will provide the details for the overnight vigil.
These two days will be intense. They will be spiritually jam-packed with prayers and pleadings to our Heavenly Father to bring about justice for the vulnerable little ones whose lives have not been valued or protected by our nation’s laws for almost 50 years. The time is short. We must act now. Please contact me if you are able to help out by taking an hour or two of these 40 hours. Let’s crowd the sidewalk with as many Christians as possible!
We won’t know the outcome of this case until January, but WILL know that God has heard our prayers. In addition to joining our prayer vigil on the sidewalk, consider also praying at your local adoration chapel and adding sacrifices and fasting as you are able.
Thank you for considering this.
In Christ,
Nikki
