Obituary for Johanna (Gross) Leonard | Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home, Inc. (kunsakfh.com)
One of the best things about 40 Days for Life is that it acts like a magnet, attracting the most wonderful, selfless and holy people in Pittsburgh. When you come to pray at the vigil at Planned Parenthood, you are likely to meet someone who will inspire you. Johanna Leonard was one of those people. She was healthy and active right up to the end. On June 20th, she emailed me to re-commit to her 5-7pm shift on Tuesdays for the up-coming fall campaign and thanked us again for praying for her Downs son, Christian, while he was on a ventilator last spring. She wrote:
Did I ever thank everyone ever so very much for praying for my son Christian, if not, I sincerely apologize because those prayers are what saved him. He is doing very well. God is Good all the time, All the time God is Good. Please Thanks 🙏 to all who prayed him back to life. Also, I will be at my post God willing from 5-7 on Tuesdays. God bless you and your family and all you do for Life.
But two weeks ago, while in Puerto Rico for a Catholic Daughter’s Convention, she fell ill and the Lord decided that at 85, her work here was finished. She had 10 children (8 are still living), and was very active in her faith and pro-life work. Her viewing is on Thursday and funeral is Friday. Click on her obituary below for the details:
