The Watchmen…
With the arrival of September, I was considering whether I would volunteer for the 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign. And, just in time I saw Nikki’s comments in the PCUC’s September Newsletter, and then the Readings for Holy Mass on September, 6th. Here’s Nikki’s comment: “I truly believe that the worst thing a Christian can do in today’s culture of death is to live a comfortable and content life. I am not saying that we should spend every minute of our days in sorrow and lamentation…but if we NEVER allow ourselves to suffer for our small brothers and sisters who are being killed, how will we face Jesus at our particular judgement when He asks us what we did for those little ones?”
And the first reading for Holy Mass a few days later: (Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time -September 6th, 2026 – Reading 1 – Ezekiel 33:7-9)
Thus says the LORD: You, son of man, I have appointed watchman for the house of Israel; when you hear me say anything, you shall warn them for me. If I tell the wicked, “O wicked one, you shall surely die”, and you do not speak out to dissuade the wicked from his way, the wicked shall die for his guilt, but I will hold you responsible for his death. But if you warn the wicked, trying to turn him from his way, and he refuses to turn from his way, he shall die for his guilt, but you shall save yourself.
Thank you Nikki, and praise God for the Holy Scripture we are presented with every day, for the perfectly clear message regarding our duty and obligation to 40 Days for Life!
May God bless you!

Bill & Tracy & Preston 8-10
(from Tracy) – Bill, Anthony, and Preston kept me company on the sidewalk this morning. Two single ladies went in and four couples during our two hours. Nobody accepted any literature.
Anthony led us in all four sets of the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary. We are very blessed to have his strong voice carry over the hubbub of the city’s noises!
There were a LOT of scientists in town for the robotics convention. Many of the attendees were foreigners. Preston and I wondered if some were a little surprised that we could boldly take a stand in public without trouble. God bless America!
Beth & Barb, Linda & Eileen 10-12
(from Beth) Surely everyone feels the same about their shift coworkers, but the Tuesday morning crew is pretty good.
Jacky, Anthony, Bill and Tracy (whose mom is nice to stay at the little lamb for easy entrance), have everything set up ready to go as Peston, Linda and I arrive. Barb, with her husband today, join us and 40 days for life is there offering help and hope.
Today we had the usual number of clients going into PP. Each client was respectfully given the offer of help.
There were a few not so respectful comments from people passing by, but nothing new.
Rose, Kim & Mike 12-2

(from Kim) Today was our first time on shift with Rose. She is so sweet and so courageous. She was asked to stay outside the circle by a man from PP and was not intimidated in the least. She politely told him she had the right to walk thru the circle. He threatened to call the police and she replied “Go ahead”. Mike and I prayed the whole time. Rose said our prayers made a difference. It was the first time no new customers entered PP. She said it was a miracle. Praise God!
Sandy & Marie 2-4
(from Sandy) – Today I was joined on the sidewalk by prayerful, passionate. Marie. As usual we started our shift praying the St. Michael prayer asking for his defense- but how special that in Church today we also honor Archangels Gabriel and Raphael. So we asked for their intercession as well- Gabriel for his strength and Raphael for healing- both very needed in this battle. There was nothing very unusual about the day other than fewer people entering and exiting. There were several thank yous mixed with the challenging sneers and insults. On leaving, the security guard said we’d accomplish more good by giving out condoms to men. A special blessing at the end of the shift was that a gentleman waiting for his bus offered to help carry the models, extra container and camera. He thanked us for what we’re doing. After thanking him again I told him I hoped the Lord would bless him in a special way this evening.

Please engage your pa state representatives and senators and tell them you oppose HB 1957 that would remove all abortion restrictions from pa law and make abortion a pa constitutional right, this three bills would also make it illegal for us to peacefully protest outside any abortion clinic and would make it criminal offense to even try to talk a woman out of abortion, it could shut down pregnancy help centers that we promote and allow abortion on demand no paternal consent abort up until the day of birth and allow babies born sure botched abortion to die in a room by themselves no medical attention required. If everyone reading this tells5-10 people we could flip some abortion supporter legislators sits or at least blow up their phones and emails getting them to change their vote. Fast and pray but take action God Bless
Bravo, Rose! A brave response in the face of opposition! God bless all who sacrificed time and prayed to save lives on shifts today.
