Day 6…Thanks to Christ the King Parish & Faithful Team Members…

COURAGE OF OUR FAITH…

Courage isn’t the absence of fear, rather it’s doing what’s right despite it. And persevering.  It’s not easy standing up for our faith in these current times. Yet Charlie Kirk did. If you are reading this you believe, like Charlie, that every life is precious and made in the image of God. And all life begins at conception and needs to be protected. Abortion is evil and we must stand up against it. That’s easy to believe but not so easy to do. Standing in front of the gates of hell praying at 933 Liberty Avenue takes courage. We stand. We pray. We love. We persevere. We are a testament to our faith.  We must persevere and continue to run the race. We must courageously confront evil.  We have saved many babies and souls. I’m sure many, many more than we know. Now is our time to courageously stand up once again for our faith and against evil to protect the unborn. I know it requires sacrifice. I know it is a cross to carry.

Are you known for the courage for your faith?  Join us on the sidewalk.  Bring a friend or family member. Sign up or show up but come to 933 Liberty Avenue and you will be known by the Courage for your Faith.  GBY

(From Mark): A Blessed Michaelmas Day! On this first Monday of the Fall campaign, we were standing on the intercession of the powerful Archangel Michael today, and we needed it. A young woman entered PP right at 8:00, and several other couples entered before 9:00, without taking the information we offered. We remained vigilant and in prayer throughout, as normal foot traffic passed by. Just before we ended our shift, the young woman left PP and took the information I handed her. Join in our prayer for her to be moved by love for all life. One other event occurred as we were setting up the signs and baby models. Two young men stopped and asked if those were babies, to which we said yes. One asked if he could touch them, and asked if we were pro-life, which replied yes to both questions. Then as he walked away, he said, “my mom died from a miscarriage because she could not have an abortion. So I do not agree.”  I was startled and not ready for that statement, and he was gone before I could comprehend the pain he must be in. May he come to know God’s healing love.

(From Elsie): Sadly, it was evident that many killings were committed while we stood outside the death mill today.  Susan & I tried to help lower the death toll by calling upon God & by offering literature to the victims entering & exiting; making sure that the 6 week-old preborn baby photo sign was visible to victims being processed at the death mill’s guard station; & giving leaflets or cards to passersby.  We felt hopeful each time someone accepted lit — especially when the person seemed so enthused about taking it that we surmised he or she might be planning to share it with a pregnant friend! 😊🙏 We were accompanied by two cheerful-yet-earnest prayer-warrior/sign-bearers with whom it was a privilege to share the sidewalk!  But, shame on me, I don’t know their names or what churches they represented.  The gentleman I have seen many times before on the sidewalk.  The lady had amazing eyes: not only beautiful, but sweet & bright at the same time!  Mike D arrived very early for his shift, and a wonderful Evangelical named Bill gave awesome witness in behalf of babies and EVERYONE harmed by abortions.

Monday mid-afternoon prayer warriors, Paul, Marie and Mike. Paul will soon be training to be a sidewalk advocate! Welcome Paul!

(From Elsie): Three STALWARTS from the previous shift gave me some extraordinary help today!!  I had been deputized by my parish Respect Life Committee to purchase some children’s clothing at Burlington before this shift, and Marie, Mike, & Bill quickly assessed that it was going to be hard for me to deliver it after my shift, by bus.  Marie immediately offered to drive me in her car to make the delivery — & then to bring me back to PP!  Mike & Bill both assured me they would remain on the sidewalk FOR EXTRA TIME, to cover for me until my return!  All this help was an inestimable blessing to me, and the Respect Life Committee’s gift of autumn clothing & shoes was safely delivered to a beautiful family.  Some of you would remember this family, because, during a 40Days several years ago, our amazing Katie had touched the parents’ hearts and prompted them to save their youngest child’s life.  Finally returning to the sidewalk, I met my shift partner Tom, who prayed the Rosary, handed out lit, & held a sign simultaneously, without ever seeming frazzled!  Bill remained with us for much of our shift.

(From Tom): Thanks much to Mike, Marie, Elise, and a new prayer warrior Bill for prayers and efforts to convert some patrons of PP today.  Hopefully some of the info we gave out and/or discussions we had with people on the sidewalk will be taken to heart…One warning I want to mention, twice today (as I was standing near the curb with my back to Liberty Ave) a car rapidly drove into the parking lane, blew their horn, then sped off without stopping.  Different car each time.  If I or someone else had chosen that instant to step into the street, this blog would have a much different tone.  Please be careful anytime you are near the curb, and anywhere on the sidewalk for that matter.

The changing of the guard (Tom from the 1-3 shift and Dan from the 3-5)
Faithful Christ the King parishioners, Cathy, Mary Catherine and her daughter Mary (a walking testimony to the power of intercessory prayer…healed from cancer!)

A few couples came out of Planned Parenthood while we were praying . One man told us adoption was the better option, we’re glad he feels that way. Another young man walked buy and told us to get a life. I should have told we were there trying to save a life but it didn’t come to me quick enough. He then asked me what scientific evidence we had  that abortion was wrong , I told him that life begins at conception and that is scientific fact , that it’s not my belief but actual fact! He said he has medical friends who could refute that claim . I told him to bring them down and I will not only prove to them that life begins at conception but also prove to them that they know life begins at conception! Because medical science knows nothing more is added after conception than nutrients. He stopped arguing and walked away . I thanked him for asking questions and wished him a good day . Let’s pray he  now spreads the truth!

  1. The sad story told to today’s 1st shift is in all likelihood a lie. If this young man claims his mother “couldn’t get an abortion,” where on earth was she living? Abortions for any reason (or no reason) are sadly allowed in PA. Up until the Dobbs decision, they were allowed in all 50 states, so NOWHERE IN THE ENTIRE U.S. would this man’s mother have been denied an abortion. Additionally, of course, miscarriage treatment is NOT an abortion, as it is removal of the remains of a baby who has already died naturally. Miscarriage treatment is allowed in all 50 states, including states which protect living babies from being aborted.

  2. Thank you, Elsie for your message. If she died during a miscarriage, it was because she wasn’t getting any medical help at all. Where in America could she be living that didn’t have medical help readily available? I am sure there is much more to his story. Hopefully, he will come to understand that abortion is never the answer to any pregnancy situation.
