DAY 40…Thanks to Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. John/St. Mary/Mother of Sorrows Parishes, our AMAZING team, and all the wonderful people who prayed with us throughout this campaign!

Blessed are they who have kept the word with a generous heart and yield a harvest through perseverance.

(paraphrasing Luke 8:15)

“Generous hearts” doesn’t even begin to describe 40 Days for Life Pittsburgh volunteers…taking time out of busy work and family schedules, fighting traffic to get in and out of the city, finding and paying for parking, braving the wild weather extremes, enduring ugly behavior from those who disagree, fighting discouragement when woman after woman enters PP…all of these things require tremendous generosity and strong faith! We are so grateful to everyone who prayed with us, including all those who joined their prayers to ours from a distance because they were physically unable to get to the vigil.

Some days, we saw evidence of the harvest. There were nine very encouraging interactions with moms over the course of this campaign! But even when results were hidden from us, we know that many seeds were planted that may bear great fruit in the future. “Perseverance” is the word of the day for Day 40!

40 DAYS FOR LIFE 365 VOLUNTEERS AND SIDEWALK ADVOCATES WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY AND SERVE UNTIL ABORTION ENDS! Please come back to help!

SIDEWALK REPORTS

JEN: What a blessing to have Vince, Dave, Rich, and George to pray with on this sunny Sunday morning! And happy birthday to George!

KEN: We had a beautiful sunny Palm Sunday for our last shift of this campaign. There were a few positive comments and  a warm conversation with a young man searching for the love and redemption of a merciful God.  Saying goodbye to all the faithful on the shifts that go before and after us is always a little sad. My faithful friend and prayer partner Pat will be missed until the next campaign. I don’t think there can be better true friendships than fellow pro lifers. We share conversations, feelings, hopes and desires for peace, mercy and love for the moms and babies, our families, our church, and our nation that don’t often happen even in our own families. It is truly a joy to meet and pray on the sidewalk with so many awesome faithful members of Pittsburgh 40 days for life.

ROSEANN: We had a good group today of faith filled warriors. As you can tell by the photo, we also had a splash of sunshine which I believe is the first time in this particular shift since Lent began. It was a welcomed gift.  We prayed and hopefully opened some hearts and minds to the message of life.

Coming soon!
