Day 40…Thanks to our incredible team and all who prayed with us over the course of this campaign!

DIAPERS CAN SAVE LIVES!

The cost of raising a child is a major concern for most women who become pregnant unexpectedly.  Pregnancy Resource Centers can lessen that fear by offering free diapers, but they need your cooperation.  Help empower a mom to choose life for her child by donating diapers!

Catholic Charities Pregnancy & Parenting program in Allegheny County especially needs diapers in sizes 6 & 7 and pull-ups in size 5T/6T, as well as wipes. Catholic Charities also supplies diapers to similar programs in Beaver, Butler, Greene, Lawrence, and Washington counties, where diapers in all sizes 3 & larger are needed.  (If you are okay with your donations going to these other counties, please mark it on the donated items or in your online order.)

Here’s how you can help:

  • Buy diapers, pull-ups, and/or wipes and drop them off at Catholic Charities,111 Blvd. of the Allies, Pgh 15222.
  • Buy diapers from an online retailer like EveryLife (https://everylife.com) or Walmart (https://www.walmart.com/) and have them shipped to the address above.
  • Multiply your impact…organize a diaper drive at your church!  Reply to this message and we’ll arrange a pickup for the items you collect.

Support is available for every pregnant mom in need…please let her know you’ll walk with her as she brings her precious child into the world!

(From Jen) I’m sorry, I forgot to take a picture this morning! It would have shown the faithful Sunday morning crew devoutly praying for the end of abortion. Thank you to Vince, Dave, and Rich (and often George, too!) for persevering as we stand for Life!

(From Ken) We were called heretics today, shouted from a man across the street. A little concerning because the punishment for a heretic is excommunication. We think he meant hypocrite, which we have been called before. Pat and I prayed the rosary, as well as the Holy Souls prayers for a cemetery visit and applied them to those who died at the abortuary this campaign. I think maybe we have good theological grounds since the bodies of the babies killed don’t have a final resting place in a cemetery.

(From Roseann) When it’s just the two of you, you are forced to take a selfie. It was a quiet uneventful shift.  Passerbys but only one negative comment. We prayed Rosaries, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Litany to Our Lady amongst other prayers.

(From Andy) God gave us beautiful weather for the last shift of the campaign. We had a few visitors, a motorcyclist, who said something mean as he drove by, because he thought we were Democrats, but when he realized we were not, he stopped and talked for a little bit. The usual number of homeless people said hello. And of course we had our five star general with us the entire time.

COME BACK TO THE BLOG TOMORROW FOR PICTURES FROM THE 40 DAYS FOR LIFE CLOSING EVENT!

THEN COME BACK TO THE SIDEWALK WITH 40 DAYS FOR LIFE 365!

The need to offer help and hope on the sidewalk doesn’t stop, so neither will we!  But we need more volunteers to cover the hours when PP commits abortions.  Please consider taking one of the recurring shifts listed below, or responding to the weekly sub requests. Contact Jen at pghsaland365@gmail.com if you can serve!

  • Wednesdays from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
  • Thursdays from 9:00-10:00 AM
  • Fridays from 12:00-2:00 PM

  1. Blessings on all the faithful who donated time and prayed prayers for these 40 Days. Particularly meaningful is the closing during Hallowtide as we pray to All Saints and for All Souls as noted by Ken above.
