EMERGENCY!
One morning while on the sidewalk, I heard screaming sirens and turned my gaze to see what might be happening at the end of the block toward the Amtrak Station. Saying a quick prayer for all involved, I hoped everything would end well.
Since my youth, that is what I was taught to do. “Hear sirens? Say a prayer!” To this day, it’s still what I do. At a potential emergency, I find myself giving a short gasp and launching into a brief intercessory prayer. Many of us do this.
What struck me this particular morning was how I found myself alarmed at what might be occurring up the street when, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, DEATH was on the other side of the brick facade! I stood near DEATH! Not potential, but REAL! There, many innocent lives were ALREADY SNUFFED OUT and I was not reacting to THAT horror! Had I grown numb to this reality?! I was ashamed!
This 40Days Season, I renew my commitment to take a stand and witness for these precious lives. I will pray, fast, and sacrifice for my little brothers and sisters. We are not powerless. The Holy Spirit can amplify whatever we can manage to give to this effort. Our meager gifts will never be offered in vain. All will be used for good.
May we remain more aware and engaged and continue to seriously offer ourselves for this noble work. Dear Lord, please end the sorrow and scourge of abortion in our world!

Joe K, Tim & David – 7:30-9am

I was blessed to have year round Saturday morning regulars Joe and David with me on the sidewalk. While there wasn’t a lot of street traffic several couples went in. And we prayed. GBY

Andrew & Ann – 9-11am

An unfortunately busy day at Planned Parenthood. I was able to start conversations with two women but both went in. I was glad to have parishioners from St. Paul of the Cross Parish praying with me. They took a 4 hour shift!

Dean & Chris D 11am – 1pm

Not much to report for the Sat. 11-1 shift. Probably between 2-4 clients entered Planned Parenthood during that time and maybe twice as many (4-8) exited. We did not turn anyone away and only a few passers-by took our pro-life fliers. That is all I have to report. God bless you.

Kathy K & Billy – 1-3pm

Chris graciously stayed with Billy, Dan and Kathy to organize the setup transfer. First hour was bathed in prayer and giving out a lot of literature.
Second hour started with a woman clothed in black and darkness on her countenance. She just stared at fetal models, I started toward her thinking she would throw the models. Billy was heading toward me, unsure what was happening. She took our resource and said ,”I am terrified.” Asked her. Of what? She mumbled. Walked away, past pp.
Later she walked back, making funny faces. Asked her , please talk to us?
She went in: Dan held sign, ”I am human,” toward window and we begged God that she would come back out.
We gave report to Mary, Mike, and Chuck , hoping she would come out next hour. (She has black and teal hair in case she comes next week. Praying…

Mary, Chuck, Mark, and Dan
The young lady who seemed scared but entered PP did not come out, we only saw workers leaving. We said a Divine Mercy chaplet for everyone who entered PP today.
