Day 39: Thanks to Holy Family Parish, Steubenville; Guardians for Life; St. Ferdinand RTL Group, Grove City Young Adults, Wonderful Individual Volunteers

WE REMEMBER ……. PLUS Today’s Potential SAVE!!!!!!!

Wonderful friends of mine recently visited the Flight 93 Memorial in Shankstown, PA. What a beautiful and powerful monument it is… It is often cited that 40 Americans sacrificed their lives on Flight 93 in a heroic attempt to thwart hijackers from reaching an occupied building and causing widescale loss of life.

But what pro-lifers everywhere would agree is that 41, not 40 American heroes perished on Flight 93.

– – – Just ask the family of Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas.

We all acknowledge that Lauren’s family lost TWO beautiful lives on that September 11. In Shanksville that fateful afternoon, 41 hearts stopped beating, 41 futures were cut short, 41 souls reached for heaven…

And this memorial is not the only place we acknowledge the value of unborn life: Currently, at least 38 states have fetal homicide laws in place and of these, at least 29 states, including Pennsylvania, have fetal homicide laws that apply to the earliest stages of pregnancy :* Pa. Cons. Stat. Ann. tit. 18. § 2601 et seq. define crimes against an unborn child, including criminal homicide, murder, voluntary manslaughter, and aggravated assault of an unborn child. And, almost unbelievably: unborn child is defined as in § 3203, to mean an individual organism of the species Homo sapiens from fertilization until live birth. !!!!!

How can a country/government/people grieve an unborn life lost through violence on the street, in a living room, or in a field, but not recognize the same loss occurs when each small life is violently taken taken in a clinic procedure room?

We know the truth and it will prevail. Keep praying, witnessing, advocating for LIFE! – Jeannie

7-9 Shift Manager Tim Reports:

Dependable Diane and Tom set up the displays to get us ready for the day. What a blessing they are. Joe, Bill and I took advantage of the quiet and deserted streets to pray together.  A passerby stopped by to support us and hold the crucifix while talking with Jimmy. Another well dressed woman was passing by and stopped by for a moment to join in our prayers.  Overall it was very slow at the abortion center early with no couples going in, however, the escorts were out.  We were then joined by the faithful from Holy Family who drove up from Steubenville.  Then Father Tim and the Guardians for Life joined us and lead us in prayer. We had a strong witness on the street.  Both groups stayed after my shift had ended.  God bless them all.

9-11 Shift Manager Reports:

11-1 Shift Manager Dean Reports:

It was inspiring to see the big group of young people from the Grove City area when I arrived for my shift today. New people need to be encouraged to speak out against abortion. A fair amount of young girls walked by and drove past us with insensitive remarks meant to ridicule us. At least our presence made them aware of was happening at P.P. As this campaign comes to an end, continue to pray, continue to share your experience at P.P. with others and don’t give up hope. If our God is for us, who can be against us?

1-3 Shift Manager Jason Reports:

AFTERNOON SAVE? A young woman who just found out she was pregnant at Planned Parenthood was helped by a wonderful Sidewalk Advocate and prayer volunteer. Barb accompanied her throughout the afternoon and will go with her to Women’s Choice Network next week for an ultrasound to find out how far along she is. Please pray for the young woman as she is still not completely decided, but Barb thinks that she will choose life with some love and encouragement! Praise God!

3-5 Shift Manager Mary Reports:

It was an eventful afternoon on the sidewalk. Jason and SA Barbara were there from an earlier shift. She had given a pregnant young girl some good information about abortion, adoption and the resources available to her; and will continue to offer her support. She was definitely in the right place at the right time, thank God!

A woman describing herself as a nursing student pulled up to argue with us, informing Billy that he has no uterus (shocking news to Billy!) so he has no say. We tried to talk with her but she clearly wanted to rant, not discuss, so we walked away. There were more of the usual drive-by and walk-by spews but also some positive reinforcement. While we were praying a DM chaplet we were treated to an extremely loud version of a wonderfully melodic song called Shut Up, coming from a car parked right next to us. It turns out it was a friend who was there to pick up a PP employee. We marveled at their cleverness, then went on to pray a rosary. We were graced by the presence of my good friend Deacon Tim, who joined us and then gave us all a blessing. Thanks to Mike from St. Kilian, Jeff, and Lisa for joining us; and to Billy for being a great 40 Days partner!\
