The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
God we thank You and praise You for your Holy Spirit that lives in us. Your Word says that our bodies are temples because we have the Holy Spirit living in us. Your Word says that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. We live and move because You give us the breath that sustains us.
Lord, You have called us to this important work to share the Gospel and stand for the most vulnerable among us. You have blessed us with Your strength to help us to persevere and endure. We give You all honor, praise and glory for Your leading and guiding through the Holy Spirit. It is only by Your grace and what You did on the cross Jesus, taking our sin upon yourself and dying a sinner’s death on the cross. You were obedient unto death. God raised You from the dead so that all who believe in You will share in the promise of eternal life. We know it is not by works or anything we do but only by Your grace that we have been saved. God you are so awesome and holy and we are weak. Only You God can stop this modern day holocaust of abortion. Only You can right this wrong.
God we humbly ask You to have Your way in our land. We ask You to awaken the Church, the body of Christ, to join in this battle, to never be silent in the face of evil, to never back down, but to have holy boldness to persevere and endure. God we ask You to help us to remain faithful til the end. We trust in You only God and know that You can and will do the impossible. God only You can change hearts. We ask You to change the hearts and minds of women and men considering abortion, change the hearts and minds of all abortion doctors, nurses, volunteers, escorts and security guards and all who believe the lie that abortion is healthcare and a woman’s right to choose. Lord let them all realize they are assisting in the murder of Your image bearers. Open their eyes Lord and help them to see. Remove the blinders, scales and veils from their eyes. Show them Lord what evil they have done. Give them dreams, visions and nightmares of the lives they have led to the slaughter. God let them realize the precious gift that life is and that You created each one of us in our mother’s womb.
Forgiveness is found only in You, Jesus. You are the giver and sustainer of all life. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, our souls know that oh so well. You do not make mistakes. God help us to value life at all stages, from conception to natural death. Lord we are praying and believing that Planned Parenthood will be defunded, the abortion pill will be stopped and abortion will be abolished in our land to Your glory.
Lord help us to keep shining our light in the darkest place where child sacrifice happens. The blood of the innocent has defiled our land. We know it grieves You Lord as it grieves us too. Have mercy on us Lord. We repent of any way we have sinned against You and not done what was right in Your sight. We love You Lord and are grateful that You hear and answer our prayers in Your perfect timing and Your perfect way. We know that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. We ask all this in the Mighty Name of Jesus, the name above every name. AMEN & AMEN

Coming soon!
9-11 AM +++ Nikki, Charlie, and Barb

NIKKI: It was dreary and rainy and about five or six women entered during my shift. Thanks to Charlie for staying for three hours today and thanks for Jim for showing up! Thanks also to Barb for filling in! We had many positive comments this morning, many people were thankful for us being there.
11 AM-1 PM +++ Linda, Ed, and Sam

LINDA: Our shift started out slowly, but the pace of clients entering and exiting grew towards the end of our shift.
Thanks to the offering of a blessing bag, one young couple listened with interest to my description of the help available. They took our information, and the man told me that they were not there for an abortion.
Other than that one encounter, no one was interested in hearing about any help and hope.
Thank you to Linda and Tom, first time participants in 40 Days. Hope the cold and rain did not discourage you from participating again in the future. Thanks also to Barb, Ed, Sam, and Bob for praying and witnessing on the sidewalk today.
1-3 PM +++ Carolyn, Cil, and Fr. Jim
