Day 23…Thanks to Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene, St. Francis & St. Clare of Assisi Parishes, Faithful team members and volunteers!

We just got back from a wonderful trip where we had all 6 of our grandchildren together for the first time.   We went to babysit our 4 grandchildren that are out of state. We also got to be with our first grandchild and celebrate her birthday.

It was such a blessing to help our daughter and son in law as they were away for a wedding.  It was very busy, but so great to do the day to day things with them.  God is doing amazing things in their family and they are raising up “warriors” for Christ.  To hear their sweet and simple prayers to ask God to give their mom and dad safe travels and to pray for our safe travels as well was beautiful.  Hearing them practice their Bible verses gave us great joy!

Jesus says in Mark 10:15 “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”

And in Matthew 19:14 Jesus said: “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

And Jesus says in Mark 9:42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.

As we come to the sidewalk to pray, our prayers do not have to be wordy and can be simple, even childlike.  God knows our hearts and hears our every prayer.  And when we don’t know what to pray the Holy Spirit intercedes for us.  Romans 8:27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

And click HERE for a beautiful song from Matthew West about NEVER GIVING UP in prayer, even when we don’t see the results!

Father we thank you and praise you for the blessing of children and grandchildren. Please watch over all children both born and unborn. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  Put Your hedge of protection around all children and those in the womb. May our prayers and witness be pleasing in Your sight and may all we say and do glorify You!

It was cold, damp and gray on the sidewalk today, with mostly workers entering those doors. About two couples who appeared to be abortion-bound went in towards the end of my shift. It was very sad to see so many people who were struggling with addiction…and were staggering past us, looking very out of it. Especially one young woman who had no shoes on, and very short shorts with ripped pantyhose on underneath…no coat and whose long blond hair was all dirty and matted. She was so young and could have been so beautiful. She was very sick and could hardly walk, and was accompanied by an extremely muscular man (body builder for sure!), who had a tank top on and no coat, but who seemed to be fine. My first thought was that he was her pimp. She only made it to the next doorway and sat down on the cold sidewalk, with her bare skin and shoeless feet against the bricks. I went up and gave a miraculous medal on a chain to him for her, she was too sick to accept it. Later, Barbara went up and talked with them for a long time, praying and ministering to them. Once, I glanced down the sidewalk to see the muscular man that I suspected was a pimp, embracing Barbara! I thought, wow…she is just like Mother Teresa! There is no one that she is afraid to minister to! There was also another couple, a woman who was clearly on drugs, accompanied with a man, and Barbara prayed for a long time with her. Thank you Barbara for giving me an example of what to strive to.

I am always inspired by Barbara’s fearless love to those most in need in our city…reminds me of Mother Teresa!

It was wonderful to see Pastor Joe and Judy, with Chuck as they showed up for the 9am shift! Pastor Joe wrote a new book, which he gave to me. I would like to let all of you know that you can order it HERE. He is also available for teaching seminars and speaking engagements.

This morning Pastor Joe, Chuck and I arrived and were pleasantly surprised to meet Tony, our security guard.

PP was fairly busy going in and coming out. 😢

Early in the shift a lady stopped when I approached her and offered her women’s resources, and she angrily said, “If you are anti abortion,  I’m not pregnant,  I’m just fat.” As I continued to explain the resources she tuned me out and went inside.

A young lady named S. came out of PP to smoke a cigarette and she responded to my smile and greeting. So when she went a couple doors down to smoke,  I approached her. She said she had just lost her baby and this was a medical appointment. I offered her the Free Local Resources brochure and she was interested. I opened the brochure and showed her the different resources and told her they were free services,  unlike PP. And I explained that PP kills over 3000 a year. I asked her if I could pray with her and she said yes. She was visibly touched by the prayer. An older lady,  possibly her mother came out of PP at that point and they left. Please keep S. in your prayers.

A “unique looking” pair of individuals (not at all sure of their gender) approached the door and I offered them a resource brochure. They threw their heads back in laughter and entered PP. I think I made their day. I am so thankful God has a plan for their lives,  and at some point, in His perfect timing, He will reveal it.

A gentleman named “I” approached me and asked if I had a coffee voucher. I told him I had nothing, but we might have one in our resources. I offered him a granola bar and he was happy to take it. I asked him if we could pray for him. He said yes and asked us to pray for stability for him. After the prayer, he was smiling and said, “I really felt that.” Praise God for divine breakthroughs!

Another lady came out of PP. She was on the phone but standing in front of me waiting for the light to change. So I approached her,  holding the resource brochure, explaining these were free women’s resources. She paused her conversation and took the brochure and opened it up to look at it. The light changed and she walked off. Please agree with me in prayer that this brochure will change her life and direction.

A mom-looking person was taking a very young couple in. I offered them the resource brochure. The mom was heading in first and yelled loudly back over her shoulder to me,  “we don’t want your crap.” How heartbreaking to see a grandparent taking their grandchild to be brutally slaughtered. Lord God, help us!

Pastor Joe and Judy, with Chuck from Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene, with our security guard Tony…keeping us safe!

It was an uneventful shift, with all the regulars on the sidewalk praying. There was a fairly steady stream of people going in and out of Planned Parenthood. It was hard to tell how many were abortion minded. Most did not want to accept any information.

Even with no visible results, we know that God is hearing the prayers of the faithful volunteers, and they are making a difference!

Thanks to Ed for coming again this week.  He reached out on the other side.

Carolyn always makes sure Our Lady of Guadalupe is with us.  As we were leaving the guard asked if he could take a picture of her and Diane and I encouraged him to read about her.  He’s a spiritual man who takes Jesus and St Michael “with him”. I hope to talk with him again.

The prayer warriors prayed a beautiful Divine Mercy, which Carolina led in Spanish, and they prayed a Sorrowful and Joyful Rosary.

Thanks to Anita from All Saints and Fr Jim who drove Patti, Joyce, Diane, Eva and I to the Vigil from St Francis.

The weather was nice.  I didn’t need gloves.

Handed out more flyers today.  Had to restock the 40 Days for the next shift.  Too many coming and going from PP.

A gentleman was there to test the elevator and brought the red metal carts out when leaving.  We could have told them they aren’t safe…people are losing their lives in that building.

Before we left, two black men took the help flyer.  The one said that he has 4 children.  I told them about the Little Lamb and took them in. Jeannie just opened up before we came down.  They were impressed.  The one man called a friend? to tell her about it.  Sounds like they will be back.

Large group of prayer warriors today, including members of Sts. Francis & Clare of Assisi parishes

It was relatively quiet today, we spoke to Caroline when we got there, and we also had a few hecklers’s, but we did get in a Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 PM, and also a Rosary at 4 PM. we also spoke to a lady, who was kind of irrational, but she said that her son died, and she spent all her money having him cremated, and some lady downtown saw her crying and beat her for it. She asked us to pray for her, and we did pray for her.

Larry & Pete, a prayerful end to day 23
