Day 17…Thanks to St. Matthew Parish, terrific team members, and all who went to the sidewalk today!

SOLDIERS OF TRUTH

When we pray and counsel in front of Planned Parenthood, we stand for many truths- that we are made in the image of God, that Life begins at conception, that we love and will help not only the pre-born child, but her mother, too. I believe that many who oppose us on the street know the Truth of what we say, but, because of their role in an abortion (they had one, accompanied their partner to PP, drove a friend there, advised them to have one, or paid for one), they cannot agree with us. I also believe that the stronger the verbal abuse the person gives, the closer they were, or are, to an abortion.

How do we respond to those who say such nasty things to us? With love in our hearts, an offer of free services to the pregnant women. No judgement, just love, compassion, and offers of real help to them.

“For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.”

2 Corinthians 13:8

“The wrath of God is being revealed from Heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness.”

Romans 1:18

SIDEWALK REPORTS

ETHAN: I came home to a missing 40 Days for Life “Pray to End Abortion” yard sign Wednesday night. I looked around for it and found it stuffed in the nearby dumpster. Reached in, grabbed it out, and put it back up.

Randy with a powerful sign; SA Kim and Greg wearing new blue vests

KATHY: Thanks to those who came today and offered prayer and resources:  Greg, Kim, Bernie, Phil, Molly and her 4 beautiful children. A few clients accepted literature but no turnaways. Many passersby accepted literature and some even blessed us for being there. A homeless woman named “T” passed by and needed help as she fell into traffic  lane due to intoxication. Police were notified and assisted.

KATIE: Thanks to Phil from Most Precious Blood of Jesus, Bernie from St James, and Molly and Laura from Steubenville (as well as their many children!!) I forgot to take pictures, but the kids created some beautiful chalk art, including a picture of the Immaculate Heart! After they had left, a few teenage boys walked by and one of them read the “babies = love” written on the sidewalk, and I overheard him say “babies ARE loved! I love babies!” It’s always nice to see young people who haven’t bought into the lies they’re surrounded by. Although there was a couple who parked right there (and I had assumed they were going in because of the way she was dressed and the way the man had kept making eye contact with me as she parked the car) and after I explained that we can help with anything and that the mothers who accept our help never regret keeping their babies, she said “well I come from someone who was adopted (I’m not sure if she meant SHE was adopted, or one of her parents) and I support abortion”. I told her we are glad she’s here with us, but it’s particularly unfortunate when someone who could have easily become like one of these babies doesn’t think other people should be given a chance!

Coming soon!
