Day 16: Thanks to St. Catherine Laboure Parish, Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene, St. Raphael Parish, and all who prayed with us today!

Christ is our Anchor & Firm Foundation

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.

Hebrews 6:19

For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Romans 15:4

The anchor for faith in these times is the Word of God. Faith displaces fear. God needs us to stay focused on His mission. Speak His words. Remind ourselves of His promises. Worship. And stand!

Father God, you are our firm foundation and the anchor of our souls. We stand on your promises. We praise you and give you glory, Lord. Our hope, faith and trust is only in you. We take refuge in you in the midst of the storms of this life. Whatever tomorrow brings, we will not be shaken. You hold us by your righteous right hand. Lord, we thank you for your Word, that is the Sword of the Spirit. Help us to wield it like a sword to combat the lies of abortion and the propaganda all around us at every turn. Please change the hearts and minds of all those working in the abortion industry. Remove the blinders and veils so they can see you and the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness you have for them. You want them to repent and come to know you as Lord and Savior. We know you do not want any to perish, but all to come to know you. You can do the impossible and we believe
you will. Thank you, Jesus!

We thank you, Lord, for the blessings on the sidewalk. We thank you for each conversation and every opportunity to love those who are hurting, confused, and misled by the abortion industry. Lord ,we thank you for the Pregnancy Resource Centers, Mobile Units, and all who truly help women and children and come alongside them to support them in any way. We praise you for the many lives saved, those known and unknown. We give you all the glory, Lord. Father, thank you for 40 Days For Life and the privilege to pray to end abortion where we live. We know it will end in your time and your way. Father, we know how the story ends: You conquer evil, banish Satan, and restore the earth. We await the greatest revival the world has ever seen. Let us be about the Great Commission, making disciples of all nations. Help us to share the Gospel daily. We ask all this in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

Stories from the Sidewalk

Debbie and crew from Saint Catherine Laboure Parish

Faithful Anthony tries to come every day

Barbara and Nikki

It was a beautiful, calm morning to pray and witness today!  I am inspired by Anthony’s commitment to come every day and pray all four mysteries of the rosary! I actually found myself looking forward to my shift this morning, so that I could pray with him! Sadly, there were quite a few very young abortion-bound couples entering those doors of despair this morning. We prayed for all of them. It’s always lovely to see Judy and Pastor Joe along with Chuck from the Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene show up for the next shift. So many wonderful people take part in 40 Days For Life! It is a blessing to get to know them. Thank you to Debbie and the others from Saint Catherine Laboure parish for taking 3 1/2 hours on the sidewalk today!

Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene with Saint Catherine Laboure Parish

The LPNazarene crew was Pastor Joe and Judy, and Chuck. Debbie and Janet from St Catherine Laboure’s parish were already here when we arrived. Then Mary Jane from St. Thomas More joined us.

Traffic into PP was not as heavy today as it was last week. We finally had an opportunity to speak to a young lady who spoke to us very briefly and received some handouts.

We did have one young lady who talked to us a bit and asked for directions and chatted just a bit, and then she said, “Don’t you guys have anything better to do?” Our reply was, “No, this is the best thing we could be doing.”

Judy, 9-11am
Wonderful group from 9-11am, including parishioner from St. Catherine Laboure parish, Pastor Joe and Chuck from Lincoln Place Church of the Nazarene, with Mary Jane who came to pray.

It was a revolving door, but one woman took information from Regina and did not go into PP.

Beth Ann, 11am-1pm
Thanks to Ed, Patty, Susan and others for being there! Thanks Regina for possibly saving a life today!

Had a wonderful group from St Raphael’s!

Thank you to Walt, Fran, Bob & Al for joining us today and for being involved throughout the year… attending the March, the kickoff…

Fr. Jim had a full car.  We were glad to have Joyce and Patti with us!  They worked in 2 rosaries and a Divine Mercy.

The street was busy.  So was PP.  One girl coming out spoke with me before getting into a car.  She seemed in a daze.  I offered her literature, she looked then declined and got in the car.  She just glared straight ahead. Sad.

It was a blessing to have two men (at different times) willing to have me pray with and for them.  Please pray for Rob and Chad. It was nice that Chad quickly chimed in to pray for us and end of Abortion.

One younger man was with a girlfriend and said he was “here” before but ended up with twins!  So they chose Life.  Yay!  I couldn’t get more info as he was quickly crossing the street.

Cil, 1-3pm
Thanks to Patty, Fr. Jim and Joyce for being Christ on the sidewalk today!
Thanks to Fran, Walt, Bob and Al for joining us today!
Friends thru pro-life, church… Jennifer & Mark happened to be passing by and were surprised to see Carolyn.

We had a relatively quiet day.  Several girls left PP with a brown bag.  We did two group Chaplets and Rosaries.  A guy named Mike, who identified as a gay married man with a husband, was questioning us on typical anti Catholic questions.  We thanked him for talking to us, instead of hurling insults on the run.  We were very sensitive and responded as best as we could to be true to our faith, but also tell the truth.  A fellow from Brooklyn, NY joined the discussion who was a new convert to Christianity.  Mike thanked us for the discussion and snapped our group photo.

Larry, 3-5pm
Larry, Pete, Al, Heather, Laura, Bob — faithful members of St. Raphael parish joined Larry and Pete for the 3-5 shift.
