Day 11: Thanks to Jeannette Holy Name Society, Christ our Savior Parish, Regina Coeli Parish, and 40 Days For Life Prayer Warriors

GOD did not put you in this world to be SUCCESSFUL. He put you here to be FAITHFUL…St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

A film was shown in Pittsburgh this week about the incredible Mother Teresa – “NO GREATER LOVE” . She was an AMAZING person lauded worldwide for her selfless charity to the least of the least – the sick and dying of the ghettos. Universally, Mother Teresa was and is revered as one the Heroes of our current age – but she must also be known for her adamant support for Unborn Life. When invited to speak at the 1994 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC (by then President Clinton) she was not intimidated by the gathering. Here are a few of her unapologetic remarks:

… I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because Jesus said, “If you receive a little child, you receive me.” So, every abortion is the denial of receiving Jesus — is the neglect of receiving Jesus.

It is really a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself.  And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?  How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion?  As always, we must persuade her with love and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. . .

.… Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love one another, but to use any violence to get what they want.  This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion. . .

Pray for US, MOTHER TERESA

7-9 Shift Manager Tim Reports:

The Sunrise Squad was able to pray for awhile before the escorts arrived and PP opened. Randy and Bill joined us to strengthen our witness.  It was generally quiet but several women still went in to the clinic. Sue and Sue arrived along with a group to take over. Tim

SATURDAY SUNRISE SQUAD

Shift Manager Sue Reports:

The sidewalk was crowded with people praying. It was wonderful to the hear the men (and 1 woman) from the Jeannette Holy Name Society pray decade after decade of the rosary. Randy joined us, a family with 6 children, a family with their son and his fiance, who are regulars from Sts. John and Paul and 2 men from TLM community. We also had 3 people who had been at Allegheny Repro join us because it was closed today. We approached several couples with offers of help, but to my knowledge no takers. One father said they prayed about it and went in.  Many prayers were said and the Holy names of Jesus and Mary were invoked out loud through the entire shift…ending with the beautiful hymn, Holy God We Praise Your Name!

Jeannette Holy Name Society : Great WITNESS for Life on a chilly Saturday Morning

Shift Manager Dean Reports:

Happily, there wasn’t that much activity at P.P. today. There was also a gathering of women that was taking place over by the courthouse. We could hear the loudspeakers from where we were but, didn’t see anything.

Where there is LIFE there is HOPE! INDEED there is!

Shift Manager Billy Reports:

Good afternoon everyone. Today has been a bit quiet with a couple passersby. I happened to see a young girl come and take a baby model into her hand just to touch it. She asked what it was and I said to her its a baby model. Fran tried to offer her and her friend literature but they walked away too quickly. We had a couple “naysayers” and saw a few of the women’s march protesters — both they and we were civil.  A guy came up to Fran and asked if he could record us and he asked for a fetal model and Fran gave him one and the precious one card. Another group of guys said they were going to donate to PP in honor of us. Also a gentleman and his wife (who the previous shift saw go in ) ultimately came out of the clinic. Our prayers go out to them. A young man named Ben came to pray with us at the end.
