Day 10…Thanks to St. Mark the Evangelist Parish & all faithful volunteers!

After the Dobbs decision by the Supreme Court, the recent news of the about-to-be-closed flagship PP in Manhattan, same for the 8-story PP mega-center  in Houston, and the one-year stoppage of federal funding for PP, it might be tempting to ease up on the gas pedal and lessen our commitment to try to save pre-born lives.  Please, let’s not do that!

The enemy of Life and the father of lies is still strong, his allies are numerous, and Harrisburg, generally speaking, is hostile to Life.

The 2-pill abortion-at-home regimen is now approaching 70% of all abortions.  Foreign abortion pill companies are readily shipping the pills to anyone (woman, man) who completes the order form online, with no medical oversight, not even requiring a pregnancy test to ensure the woman is indeed pregnant.  We need to reinvigorate our efforts to save babies in the womb- to save their mothers from a lifetime of regret by smothering them with love and support, both material and spiritual.  Please come downtown and pray with us!  The time is now!

Be sober-minded and alert.  Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12

Sidewalk Advocates Greg and Ethan…Looking sharp Ethan!!!

(From Joe) – Beautiful fall morning, with slower than usual abortion seeking women entering PP.

(From Joe) – We had an encounter with a tall fit women entering PP, she was respectful and took literature, but went inside. She came out around an hour later and walked away. A while later, while walking to our cars, when our shift change happened, we saw her arm and arm with a man  walking towards PP. We said to her, “Please let us help you!” The woman said, “I was going too, but...” The man was shaking his head side to side, (like no way) as was she, and they proceeded down the side walk! Ethan and I turned around and watched them, hoping they wouldn’t go in, then they took a left at crosswalk in front of PP and left. Praise be to God, and the glorious intercession of our blessed Mother!!!

(From Greg) – This Friday morning was very busy.  Quite a few couples went in during my 8-10 shift, including one mother with a transitioning son.  We tried to explain to them that this will not solve anything , and only make him more confused, but to no avail.    I also learned from a plumber who was bringing out toilets and urinals out of Planned Parenthood that they have at least 48 toilets in there on all 6 floors.  I told hem they also replaced all their computers just a couple of months aqo, and he said they always have someone in there replacing and updating something.  I don’t think that Pittsburgh’s Planned Parenthood is hurting for money!

Kate (Left), stopped by the vigil to talk with Greg about her experience with giving her first child up for adoption. (Pictured with sidewalk advocate Kim). She and her husband have created a movie about adoption called “The Inner Sea”.   (See below). They now have 6 children, ages 2-14, are musicians and are touring the country and prom outing their film.  She feels a calling to promote this film, as they quit their jobs and renovated a tour bus to travel around the country to film festivals.

Today I had Debbie from St. Mark’s in Butler with me for the entire 11-1 shift.  Donna and Glenn came at around noon, followed shortly thereafter by two more members of St. Mark’s and whose names I forgot to get.  (Sorry.)   The day was busier than I expected, but I was encouraged by the courage both Donn and Debbie showed as they weren’t afraid to speak both warnings about what they were about to do as well as encouragement to couples inside and being processed before heading upstairs.
