Day 10…Thanks to our Dedicated Team!

The above photo is of the STOP sign across the street from PP.  To me, it says “STOP what you’re doing!” to those who work there.  The image reminds me of one of Jesus’ bloody hands on the Cross.  What a message for those that pass by on those streets!

The prayer warriors and sidewalk counselors pray every day for the deaths of the pre-born to STOP, for PP’s workers to leave their jobs and use their skills to do good.  For the eyes of the passersby to see through society’s lies about abortion.

We need you to come downtown to pray with us, to pray for the closing of this blight on the city.  As He has in dozens of cities across the country over the past several years.  Prayer is powerful, prayers are answered.

Pray for the mothers with child, their pre-born children, the abortion doctors, the nurses, and the staff.  Pray that God’s grace will come down upon them and show them the Truth. Pray for the passersby, those that curse and hate us.

“But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”  Luke 6:28

“But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” Matthew 5:44

(From Joe) – Grateful for the opportunity to participate in 40 days for life, it’s a real blessing and inspiration to serve with such devout, committed and selfless humans. May the intercession of our Blessed Mother shut down PP of Pittsburgh this campaign. All glory and praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ

(from Kathy) – Mary, Paulette, and I covered this hour. While Mary and Paulette prayed, I passed out several pregnancy resource cards to passersby and a few to clients. One young couple who initially declined accepting the card, received them after a brief conversation we had about life being a gift from God.  The young couple agreed with me and then asked for the cards before they entered the building. My hope is that both looked at the help and changed their minds, but I had left at 11 and asked Maggie and Seamus to look for them.

Maggie and Seamus, bringing smiles and love to a very sad place.

When one’s body needs strength to kick-start the day, Wheaties is the Breakfast of Champions. When one’s soul needs strength to kick-start the day on the sidewalk, the Spirit of the Living God is the True Breakfast of Champions. He is the Alpha and Omega. We are merely messengers or vessels, and we humbly pray Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us; melt us, mold us, fill us, use us. Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us. Sadly, the abortion mill was busy today but we offered love, prayers, resources brochures and info cards. When I arrived, I placed a bouquet of flowers outside with a card addressed to “Mom” and it stayed there for 70 minutes in the no-go zone until the guard picked them up. We were quite surprised the guard did not trash the flowers and card but rather, placed them at the base of our fetal model stand. The card stated “A baby is the most wonderful gift that love can bring. Welcoming your little one and wishing you joy!”  I added , “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you…” Jeremiah 1:5. Perhaps some day I can offer the bouquet and card to a Mom who comes out of PP and says “I didn’t do it” and we can truly celebrate.

Seamus

Our shift was one of those relatively quiet but somber days, when the people going into Planned Parenthood have faces like granite and will not even look at us.
Yet, I witnessed yesterday in the people from the previous shift, and the shift after us, that building, and the people coming and going were bathed and a steady stream of prayers and supplications to God.
We didn’t stop anyone from going in, just checked my tears and kept praying.
Seamus had put flowers in a beautiful card addressed to “mom” by the fire hydrant.
The flowers stay there until Glynn asked me if I put them there.
I said, no sir.
He said they were not allowed to be there and moved them.
Glynn picked them up,
I expected him to toss them.
Instead, he went over to one of our 40 Days of Life displays and carefully laid them down with the card next to the flowers.
Please keep praying for Glynn and the security guards and all who work at PP!

Bernadette, Beth, Susan, Dan and Joanne.  1 – 3.  Nice weather , but PP was busy today. As we prayed the Sorrowful mysteries and Divine Mercy Chaplets. SA Susan and Bernadette kept busy offering help to anyone who would accept it. But sadly not too many did. Susan offered help to one lady but the lady refused and said “ I don’t need it I’m already pregnant “ then shot us the bad finger. Dan

Again, workers exiting PP.  I don’t know if the nice weather is a curse or a blessing.  Too many angry people on the streets today, along with the usual drug users and drunks.  Why do they have a need to congregate by PP?  It was very eerie being there today.  Many rosaries were said.  The fetal models were knocked over again.  (I don’t know why so many people are angry at the fetal models.). And signs were kicked.  Too many evil/nasty remarks.  PP even looked uglier today.

  1. “From the mouth of babes…”
It was truly sad today when a father hand in hand with his young toddler son passed the fetal models.
The toddler said: “ A baby” as he pointed at a model. The father said: “It’s not a baby”.
    God, help us all.

  2. So sad to read the reports today. Sad about the flowers being returned, but glad the security guard or other person did not trash them or throw them away. Sad about the vandalism to the models/signs and the proliferation of lost souls who encroach upon the prayer space. I truly believe, in light of all that’s going on in the word, that evil is becoming closer and evidencing itself more clearly. I will continue to pray for the safety of all the pray-ers and counselors of 40DFL this season of witnessing.

  3. Just wondering if Pittsburgh Police were called when fetal table was knocked over or signs destroyed? Every SM/40 dfl participant should be trained to call police and report harrassment and let them deal with assailant.

    1. Hi Kathy, I did not call the police for this incident. I usually don’t hesitate, but i didn’t think too this time. There were enough witnesses that I should have. Thanks for the reminder!
