UNITED tour on the streets of Pittsburgh!

“Great love can change small things into great ones, and it is only love which lends value to our actions.”

-St. Faustina Kowalska

The 40 Days for Life family and friends welcome twins- born on Wednesday.  Fruit of their mother’s labor and of our prayers!!!

St. Faustina, Aesop, Wordsworth, St. Teresa of Calcutta.  Did they all meet and discuss this concept?  Of course not.  They just knew.  Truth is obvious.  And small acts of love and kindness are universally accepted as being worthwhile.  Not by every person… sadly, no.  But by entire cultures in general… YES.

So when we gather on the sidewalk to offer a prayer, to say hello with a smile, to offer materials to a passerby… we are doing little acts of charity that can bring GREAT BIG results.  Perhaps we may never know about them- but that doesn’t matter, and that’s not WHY we do them.  We do them out of love.  We love God and therefore we love His children.

At the UNITED rally on Wednesday, October 5, Steve Karlen of the national 40 Days for Life team talked about this with us.  He assured us that the people who are most effective at saving lives outside of abortion facilities are not of ONE type, ONE personality, etc.  But the Lord uses ALL of us, each in our own little and small ways.  Our little acts of love.  And lives are CHANGED and are SAVED because of that love.

Consider the family.  The family is started by two small, imperfect, sinful people.  And yet it grows into something incredibly beautiful with God’s help.

And God can also turn it into a lot of fun.

Let us never forget why we are on the sidewalk.  It is for the women.  For the men.  For the mothers.  The fathers.  The FAMILY.

Steve Karlen addresses the crowd at the rally:

Women DO Regret Their Abortions…

And encouraging words from our own beloved Nikki:

It was an evening for making commitments:

Steve asked us to sign a card to commit to times we would come and pray at the vigil.

Thank you to all who attended!!  And a big thank you to the national team for organizing the rally!  Even though the UNITED RV broke down in York, PA, the Lord had other plans.  Pittsburgh was not meant to have the RV.  God bless the team as they continue their travels to all 50 states in 40 days!!!
