Inspiring story from Sunday 3/4 vigil

Julie K., a wonderful mother of four and strong pro-life advocate shared a story with me through email just recently and I had to pass it along to you!  This is, in her own words, how she feels about 40 Days For Life and also a little bit about her day downtown at 933 Liberty Ave. just this past week…. Enjoy!

“I attended the prayer vigil in the fall for the first time and was shocked to see how ugly the front lines of the pro life movement really are. I have never experienced such a definitive line between right and wrong as standing there in front of Planned Parenthood.  I am just grateful to God for giving me the ability to distinguish what is right from that which so many are failing to understand.  I do have a really quick story about this past Sunday that I thought was pretty cool.  We had a lot of disgust on the street that day.  People were mocking us and using profane gestures in protest to our presence, but God had intentions on his heart for one lady in particular.  It wasn’t even 5 minutes after I arrived that a lady so full of disgust approached us asking, ” I just have one question for you ladies… Have any of you ever adopted one of these babies you are requesting these mothers bring to life?”  The three of us, almost at the same time, fumbled with delight to report that I am the proud mother of a new 6 week old baby boy whose birth mother tried to abort.  Fortunately, because he was in the state of Texas she was too far along in her pregnancy for the abortion to take place.  My husband and I thank God everyday for the gift of our baby boy, Jude Thomas, whose birthmother courageously placed him in our loving arms just 6 weeks ago.  I feel so blessed to have the privilege of adopting this miracle from God, and his birthmother is so grateful to have been given the chance to do what is right.  Two lives were saved by late term abortion being illegal in the state of Texas.  Although the woman who approached us was not there seeking an abortion, I feel her heart was changed as well.”

    Sister Julie,

Praise and Thanks be to God. Heaven and Earth ( and Pittsburgh ) is FULL of his glory.

Just to correct your “Two lives were saved by late term abortion being illegal in the state of Texas ” know that many many more were and are being saved by your obedience… your YES to His will.

May God bless us and be with us always.

I was with Julie this past Sunday. I witnessed the exchange between her and this woman. To see this woman’s demeanor change from contempt to smiling and hugging Julie was a sight to behold. It made our freezing cold Sunday afternoon easier to bear. God is good indeed!
